- Michel wrote about using ST-guide as an on-line HELP viewer...
-
- I like the idea of a standard help viewer for all applications but I do
- have a few comments.
-
- - It should be possible to have more than one help doc open at a time
- - Newer versions of the help viewer should be written, to include
- pictures and sound in the help-files
- - Geneva already has its own version of a help viewer (I haven't seen
- it, but two standards seems a bit too much).
- - Under a multitasking system, other programs can also choose to use the
- manview program to show man pages.
-
- I must admit that I really don't know ST-guide, so I don't know if it
- supports some hypertext functions and if it is possible to search
- through the help and maintain a history of the users help requests.
-
- If someone is interested, I do have some docs at home on the windows
- help-file format. It would of course be nice if we could support this
- format on the ST, since then developers could write their programs for
- more than one platform more easily.

- P.S. I think we should wait with this discussion until after the
- shortcuts voting. Yat/Ofir put this on the list of subjects that need to
- be addressed in the future.
